Brian's Hawaii

Home Page

Thanks for the nice comments from all that have visited here!

Aloha!

Hi, I'm Brian and I use to live in Hawaii. When I first moved here in 1995, I lived in Waikiki. This was the view from my 26th floor apartment.

A Waikiki Sunset

After about a year I moved to Kailua on the windward side of Oahu. I shared a place with two other guys, both are Marines.

Check back later for a view of the beach that is 70 yards from the front door of where I use to live. I still need to get it scanned. Other pictures of Hawaii will be loaded too!

About five years ago I got transfered back to the East Coast. I have been back there four times since I moved and plan to visit regulary. I miss Hawaii, it's a great place with great people - that's why I still keep this page going. . I haven't had much time to maintain this page until now. I plan to add to this page over the next couple of months. Check back once in a while and see how looks.

Genealogy:

I've been working on my family history on and off for the last 15 or so years. Usually I work on it for a week or two, then run into a roadblock of some kind, and stop working on it for a while. I'm using Family Tree Maker software for keeping track of my ancestors and it has helped me greatly in keeping everything straight. It allows me to pick right up where I left off with a very short learning curve.

Before moving to Hawaii, I lived in Baltimore and worked in Washington, D.C. There are a ton of Genealogy resources in that area and I could always go to one of those to do my research. It wasn't until I moved to Hawaii that I discovered the Mormon Family History Centers (MFHC). I had always known about the Genealogy resources of the Mormon Church, but never needed to use them while living in the Balto/Wash area. When I moved here from Baltimore, I figured my Genealogy quest would postponed until I returned. Using the MFHC has helped me continue my research while in Hawaii.

The MFHC, while a good source of Genealogy material, are limited by space and accordingly, have a tendency to have more material pertinent to their local area. Access to Federal records (Census data, Military records, etc) is easy though the Hawaiian MFHC, but resources from other States, etc. is more difficult to obtain. I still have gaps in my research and I'm looking for any information on the following family names:
